Melba Jo MCBRIDE

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Melba Jo McBride, age 77, was born February 15, 1935 and died February 22, 2012 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired secretary for Hillis Nursery Company and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Gene and Eunice Aughinbaugh Powell. She was married to Glyen Delton McBride who preceded her in death March 22, 2002. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Glyen Delton McBride, Jr. of Nashville, TN, Hervey and Donna McBride of McMinnville and Tony McBride of McMinnville; three sisters and brother-in-law, Oma Jean Jones, Linda Jones and Christine and Paul Prince all of McMinnville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddy L. "Butch" and Bobbie Powell, James W. and Wanda Powell and Carl Powell all of McMinnville; three granddaughters, Lynessa Crowe and husband Stephen of McMinnville and Brandi Hale and Amber Hale both of Crossville, TN; five great-grandchildren, Tristin Dawson, Rylin Crowe, Caleb Cantrell, Dylan Cantrell and Kyler Young and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 in High's Chapel with Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial followed in Smyrna Cemetery.
