Dorothy Lucille POWELL

McMinnville resident and Huntsville, AL native Dorothy Lucille Powell, age 83, was born October 10, 1928 and died February 22, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired employee with Stewart's Pharmacy, J.C. Penney and McMinnville Garment Company and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clessie and Bertie Mae Sanders Mullican. She was married April 4, 1951 to Frank W. Powell who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Jimmy and Janice Crim, Patty and Larry Hobbs and Gary and Elaine Powell all of McMinnville and Tommy and Angel Powell of Rock Island, TN; eleven grandchildren, Matt Crim, Wendy Crim Anderson, Kip Powell, Ren Powell, Garrett Powell, Mandy Powell, Mark Powers, Sherry Waldron, Brad Hobbs and Tim and Tony Watts; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Henry C. Mullican, Jr. of Sparta, TN; two sisters, Nell Chisam of McMinnville and Jane Gilbert of Sparta, TN and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Mt. View Cemetery with Gary Newby officiating.
