Jewel Dean Jackson REED

McMinnville resident and Davidson County, TN native Jewel Dean Jackson Reed, age 71, was born November 15, 1940 and died June 7, 2012 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Jewel Douglas and Roberta Mae Cantrell Jackson. She was married November 22, 1958 to Eddie L. Reed, Sr. of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie L. "Buddy" and Mary Reed of McMinnville; two daughters and son-in-law, Donna McBride of McMinnville and Debbie and Brian Mathis of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Eddie L. Reed, III, Benjamin West Reed, Joshua McBride, Chase Mathis and Hunter Mathis; two great-grandchildren, Savanah Carvalho and Hudson Mathis; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Costello of Virginia and Patricia and Duane Redic of Virginia; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Douglas and Paula Campbell of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; special uncle and aunt, Joe Tom and Mary Cantrell of McMinnville and special friend, Betty Dixon of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 in High's Chapel with Gary Newby and Willie Newby officiating. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory.
