Gerald Jakie WANAMAKER

McMinnville resident and Warren County, TN native Gerald Jakie Wanamaker, age 78, was born April 23, 1933 and died February 22, 2012 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A self-employed nurseryman, United States Army veteran of Korea and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Sidney and Zada Bell Coppinger Wanamaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Gilbert Wanamaker and Carl Cantrell Wanamaker. He was married May 28, 1959 to Isabel King Wanamaker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Rhonda and Clay Lewis of McMinnville and Randy and Brenda Wanamaker of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Gail Hobbs, Amanda Wanamaker, Tisha McClure and Kristy Milstead; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Jacine Denton, Christine Cox and Joyce Jones all of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 in High's Chapel with Dal Barrett officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
