Arsey William WOMACK

March 10, 1924 — June 23, 2012

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Arsey William Womack, age 88, was born March 10, 1924 and died June 23, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired rural mail carrier, United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Earlyville Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Oscar Black and Ida Lee Greene Womack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Womack; sister, Edith Phifer and two brothers, Morris and Harold Womack. He was married to Betty Cantrell Womack of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steve (Peggy) Womack of Brentwood, TN and Philip Womack of Sweetwater, TN; five grandsons, Jeremy (Crystal) Womack of Soddy Daisy, TN, Mark (Amy) Womack of Smyrna, TN, Chris Womack of Birmingham, AL, Lucus Womack of New York, NY and Michael Womack of Tuscaloosa, AL; great-granddaughter, Whitney Womack; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Frances and Joe Garrison of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 in High's Chapel with Charles Marshall and Johnny Lance officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Memorial contributions may be made to Short Mountain Bible Camp.
