James Leslie RAYMOND

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native James Leslie Raymond, age 71, was born March 26, 1941 and died July 23, 2012 at his residence following a short illness. A retired truck driver with FedEx, member of Forest Park Baptist Church and a disabled veteran of the United States Army, he was the son of the late Walter Eugene and Agnes Powers Raymond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Raymond and sister, Kay Lemay. He was married to Barbara Farmer Raymond of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Ricky and Jennifer Raymond of Lebanon, TN, Tina and Jeff Walker of McMinnville, James E. and Lisa Raymond of Westmoreland, TN and Lisa and Danny Fowler of Lebanon, TN; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Harlan Burgess of Smithville, TN. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in High's Chapel with Bob Vickers officiating. Burial followed in Gath Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
