Gail Ann ELROD

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Gail Ann Elrod, age 63, was born July 28, 1949 and died September 23, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A hairdresser and member of the Spirit of Life Church, she was the daughter of the late Lyle Jackson and Maggie Lorena Delong Cotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Cotten and nephew, Jerry Pearsall. She was married December 30, 1971 to Doug Elrod of Rock Island, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Shannon Elrod and Darek and Natasha Elrod both of McMinnville; daughter, Chelsea Elrod of Cookeville, TN; two sisters, Virginia Pearsall and Elinor Biles both of McMinnville; two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Teresa and Tom Mason and Carolyn Elrod both of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Bryson and Nathan Elrod; special niece, Patsy Green and husband Faron and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in High's Chapel with Anthony Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Old Bybee Cemetery.
