Centertown Community resident and Warren County native Clyde Hurshel Hale, age 79, was born March 26, 1933 and died September 28, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired teacher, principal and coach with the Warren County School System and Tennessee Army National Guard veteran, he was the son of the late Hurshel S. and Mamie Ann Davenport Hale. He was a member of Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Cowan. He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Louis Jordan of the Centertown Community; two brothers and sister-in-law, Cecil Hale of the Centertown Community and Jerry and Sherry Hale of McMinnville; nieces and nephews, Dana (Ross) Womack and Rhonda (Don) Smith both of Smyrna, TN, Robin (Larry) Underhill of McMinnville, Jimmy (Pam) Cowan of the Centertown Community and Elizabeth Boren of Columbus, OH; several great-nieces and great-nephews; brother-in-law, Donald Cowan of the Centertown Community and uncle, Everett Davenport of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 in High's Chapel with Blake Stephens officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery @ Barren Fork.
