Michael Terry Bennett

Rock Island, TN resident and Jackson County, TN native Michael Terry Bennett, age 65, was born April 2, 1947 and died October 6, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of the United States Postal Service, United States Navy veteran of Vietnam and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Elnora Polson Bennett of McMinnville and the late Finis A. Bennett. He was married to Sharon Dunlap Bennett of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Angie Carter and husband Greg of Rock Island, TN, Kelly Bennett of Murfreesboro, TN and Tracy Bennett of Rock Island, TN; four grandchildren, Hayden and Holden Carter, Henslea Carter and Delaney Bennett; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Jane Bennett of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Jim Trent of Beaufort, SC and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in High's Chapel with Ben Bailey and Richard Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to Warren County Rescue Squad Toy Drive, Habitat For Humanity, Kids of the Community or the charity of your choice all c/o High's.
