Verbolynn "Peggy" Maxson

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native Verbolynn "Peggy" Maxson, age 79, was born August 12, 1933 and died October 7, 2012 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. An LPN with National Healthcare and River Park Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Verby and Beatrice Ellen Fisher Jones. She attended Living Word Fellowship Church and Mt. Leo Church of Christ. She was married to Lowell M. Maxson who preceded her in death in 1976. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Farley and Patricia Owenby Gamble and four brothers, Clayton A., Carl A., Jerry S. and Joe Alfred Jones. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice Ellen and Craig Andrew, Charlotte Ann and Eddie Hice, Jody and Ricky Robertson and Julia Kay and Jim Young all of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, James Richard and Lorie Maxson of Broken Arrow, OK; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Michael Lee and Wanda Maxson of Detroit, MI; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Oleda Crain of Middletown, DE, Margie and Morris Mason of McMinnville and Billie J. and Ralph Shoemaker of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 in High's Chapel with Jim Zlaten and Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery in DeKalb County, TN. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
