Eugene Dale Darland

Rock Island, TN resident and Greenville, Ohio native Eugene Dale Darland, age 66, was born March 5, 1946 and died October 13, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Tool & Die and a United States Air Force veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of the late Bernard Clark and Cona Lee Clem. He was married December 17, 1995 to Mary Myers Darland of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by nine children and their spouses, Rick Darland of Ohio, Daniel Darland of Ohio, Dale and Karen Darland of Murfreesboro, TN, Bernard and Sharon Darland of Murfreesboro, TN, Dorothy Lyle of Morrison, TN, Connie Jaco of Lavergne, TN, Frances Adams of Watertown, TN, Sharon and Henry MaGuffin of Manchester, TN and Ben and Kristy Adams of Rock Island, TN; and thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in High's Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
