Brenda Joy Knowles

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Brenda Joy Knowles, age 65, was born August 5, 1947 and died October 23, 2012 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cleveland and Alva Irene Myers McCormick. She was married to James Calvin Knowles who preceded her in death September 2, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ramon Cartwright. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Tom Tanner of McMinnville; one son, Jerry Beaty of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Miranda Barkve and husband James, Drew Tanner and Kaitom Tanner all of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, J. J. Smith and Taylor Barkve; one sister, Georgia Wood of Aurora, CO; and one brother, Joe Lynn McCormick of Rock Island, TN. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in High's Chapel with Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at High's.
