George Leaton Medley

George Leaton Medley, age 63, a McMinnville resident was born September 17, 1949 and died November 23, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He was the son of the late Noah and Mary Lou Scott Medley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Avery Medley; two half-brothers, Royce and Charlie Medley and one half-sister Velva Lea Forsyth. He was married to Diane Norton Medley of McMinnville who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Noah Medley of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dalton and Betty Medley of Bonaire, GA and Lonnie and Deb Medley of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Webb of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Terry Webb of McMinnville and two nephews, Richie and Joseph Webb. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in High's Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery in Coffee County, TN with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion post 173. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
