McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native, Jack Rubley, age 71, was born June 29, 1941 and died December 3, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center following an extended illness. A retired well-known nurseryman and a member of St. Mary's Church of Christ where he served as an Elder, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lena Pearl Thompson Rubley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, John and David Rubley; and sister-in-law, Pat Rubley. He was married June 26, 1971 to Mary Knowles Rubley of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and David Hitchcock of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Grant and Ethan Hitchcock both of McMinnville; one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Gary Panter of McMinnville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Marilyn Rubley of Indiana, Ernest and Dean Rubley of McMinnville and James Earl and Gina Rubley of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Patricia Rubley of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in High's Chapel with Greg Rains and Titus Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.
