McMinnville resident and Warren County native Leonard Charles Butcher, age 74, was born December 15, 1938 and died December 16, 2012 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A nurseryman and member of the Shellsford Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Clarence Mitchell and Velma May Bottoms Butcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marlene Butcher and brother-in-law, Billy Cagle. He was married July 5, 1990 to Lindel Dean Butcher of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Lynn and Lois Ann Butcher and Jerry Mitchell and Teresa Butcher both of McMinnville; step-daughter, Sandy Moran of McMinnville; two sisters, Lois (Jimmy) Dishman and Linda Cagle both of McMinnville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Carolin Butcher, Clyde and Denise Butcher and Jack Butcher all of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Karie Maxwell and Jacob Butcher, two great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and uncle and aunt, Alton and Catherine Bottoms. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in High's Chapel with William Wanamaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
