Iona Scott Hobbs

Nashville, TN resident (formerly of McMinnville) and Warren County native Iona Scott Hobbs, age 83, was born January 31, 1929 and died December 31, 2012 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A retired purchasing agent for the City of McMinnville and member of West Riverside Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Villa McBride Scott. She was married December 27, 1947 to Hubert Lee Hobbs who preceded her in death March 16, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Grant Scott and Glenn Scott. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Marsha (Max) Hobbs Boren of Spring Hill, TN, Wanda (Jack) Hobbs Holloway of Columbia, TN and Morris (Carol) Lee Hobbs of McMinnville; nine grandchildren and their spouses, John Boren, Gina Boren, Luke (Jenna) Boren, Lori (Gabe) Boren Bennett, Marcy (Andy) Holloway Cookingham, Kyle (Kayla) Holloway, Benjamin Hobbs, Brad (Jana) Hobbs and Amy Hobbs; four great-grandchildren, Cecilia Boren, Scarlett Bennett, Tessa Cookingham and Emma Claire Hobbs; sister, Sylvia (Leonard) Scott Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN; two brothers, Grady (Cricket) Scott of Manchester, TN and Ross Logan (Shirley) Scott of Milton, FL and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with family members officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
