Ida Bell Jones

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ida Bell Jones, age 103, was born June 9, 1909 and died January 1, 2013 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of the Smyrna Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John and Maggie Cagle McCormick. She was married to Noah B. Jones who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Howard and Charles Jones; grandson, David Jones; three brothers, Joe, Bob and H.D. McCormick and four sisters, Amanda McCormick, Mary Green, Ella McCormick and Edna Turner. She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Oma Jean Jones of McMinnville; granddaughter, Cheryl (Steven) Jones of McMinnville; grandson, Mike "Bone" (Nancy) Jones of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Shae (Robbie) Cantrell, Andrea Jones, Cydney (David) Langford and Nicholas Jones all of McMinnville and Matthew (Emily) Jones of Cleveland, TN; six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 in High's Chapel with Paul Prince and Donald Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels or Share A Christmas Dinner both c/o High's.
