McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Robert Franklin Terry, Sr., age 96, was born December 8, 1916 and died January 15, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of Gould, United States Air Force veteran of WWII and member of the Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Harvey R. and Mannie McBride Terry. He was married February 16, 1942 to Mary Alice Bost Terry who preceded him in death August 24, 2002. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Brent Terry; great-granddaughter, Lakyn Adcock; sister, Edith Louise Terry; brother, Joe Terry and half-brother, Paul Terry. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Ruthie Terry of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Glynn Womack of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Terri (Tim) Majors, Chris Terry, Glenna (Stan) Adcock and Matthew Terry all of McMinnville; eight great-grandchildren, Brooks Majors, Toye Majors, Brock Majors, Tyla Adcock, Tia Majors, Landon Terry, Trace Adcock and Tenai Adcock; one great-great-grandchild, Bryce Majors and two half-sisters, Willene Kell of McMinnville and Cora Effie Buckner of Michigan. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 in High's Chapel with Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow in the Shellsford Cemetery with full military honors administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
