Christine Jewel Brown

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Christine Jewel Brown, age 81, was born August 15, 1931 and died February 3, 2013 at NHC Healthcare Chattanooga following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of the Second Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Jackson and Nellie Ann Harpoole Wooten. She was married December 17, 1950 to Roy Eugene Brown of Rock Island, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda and David Smartt of McMinnville; niece, Rhonda Owens (Allen) of Rock Island, TN; nephew, Shane Wooten of McMinnville; great-niece, Morgen Atchley of McMinnville; great-nephew, Kendall Wooten of McMinnville and great-great-nephew, Lex Thrower of McMinnville. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in High's Chapel. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.
