Gordon Eugene Hennessee

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Gordon Eugene Hennessee, age 75, was born June 28, 1937 and died February 4, 2013 at his residence following a sudden illness. A retired salesman with Avalon Dairies, Frito-Lay and Life of Georgia Insurance Company, United States Army veteran and member of the Arlington Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Hobert and Iris Craig Hennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Joann Hennessee. Mr. Hennessee was married October 24, 1958 to Reba Nell Jones Hennessee of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Karan and Kerry Crowe of Bristow, VA, Brad and Renee Hennessee of Smithville, TN, Kevin Hennessee and Heather Culbreath of Smyrna, TN and Stacy and Amanda Hennessee of McMinnville; six grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Jewell Hennessee of the Rocky River Community; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Winston and Nellie Jones of the Dibrell Community; sister-in-law, Dean Edge of Smithville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in High's Chapel with Stan Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Cantrell funeral home in Smithville, TN, 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at High's and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
