Sylvia Lois Rogers Parker

Smartt, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Sylvia Lois Rogers Parker, age 79, was born August 19, 1933 and died February 20, 2013 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. A retired clerk with the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Louise Watley Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Kenneth Rogers; and three sisters, Jean Pirtle, Sue Slatton and Joyce Northcutt. She was married June 27, 1952 to Johnny Parker of Smartt, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Teresa Parker of Smartt, TN; granddaugher, Hollie Roberts and husband Aaron of the Vervilla Community; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Roberts; two brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Woodbury, TN and Thomas Rogers of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews also survive, and her devoted caregiver family at Raintree Manor. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Morrison Church of Christ with Roger Comstock officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at High's. Memorials may be made to the Gospel Broadcasting Network thru the Morrison Church of Christ.
