Fred L. Hoover, Jr.

Fred L. Hoover, Jr., age 80, a McMinnville, TN resident and Viola, TN native was born September 18, 1932 and died February 25, 2013 at NHC Healthcare, McMinnville. He was a retired insurance agent with Hoover & Son Insurance, a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. He loved his family, the river, the smokies, the Dearing place and all the great outdoors. He was the son of the late Fred L. and Ruby Ramsey Hoover, Sr. and was married to Elizabeth Elkins Hoover who preceded him in death March 27, 2009. He is survived by son Fred (Leslie) Hoover, III of McMinnville, TN; daughter Rachel (Bobby) Kirby of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Sarah, Cade and Luke Hoover, Lake, Rayah and Isabel Kirby; two sisters, Mary Harold Hoover and Betty Hoover Smith. Graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Viola Cemetery with Father Bude VanDyke officiating. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
