John Paul Davis

Morrison, TN resident and Green Forest, AR native John Paul Davis, age 84, was born October 9, 1928 and died March 6, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired lineman with Caney Fork Electric Cooperative and member of the Morrison Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Saint Elmer and Linnie Stroud Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Timothy Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Marion Davis, George and Lotus Davis, James and Marie Davis and Jackie Davis and nephews, Larry and Kevin Davis. Mr. Davis was married November 23, 1947 to Mary McMahan Davis of Morrison, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sherry Davis of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Jill Mullican and husband Ryan of Denver, CO and John Marshall Davis of McMinnville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Noel and Betty Sue Davis of Springfield, MO, Frank and Betty Lou Davis of Lowell, AR and Leo Davis of McMinnville; Davis nephews and nieces, Lew, Allen, Mel, Jerry, Thala, Terry, Marsha, Mike, Mark, Joy, Donna, Jimmy and Patti; several great-nieces and great-nephews and special caregivers, Dr. Vickie Jones, Yvette McMahan Parsley, FNP, Winnilee Tabor and Clint Cooper. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Morrison Church of Christ with Roger Comstock officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highs'. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Boyd Christian School or Gospel Broadcasting Network all c/o High's.
