McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native L.C. Wanamaker, age 77, was born November 25, 1935 and died April 15, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired truck driver with Gant Oil and member of New Hope The Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Helen Gross Wanamaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, A.J. Wanamaker and sister, Mary Elizabeth Wanamaker. Mr. Wanamaker loved to hunt and fish and loved Bluegrass music. He was blessed to live in such a wonderful community. He was married June 8, 1963 to Jeweldean Fults Wanamaker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Jim Winfrey of McMinnville; grandson, Jared Winfrey of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Lynnel and Mary Wanamaker of Beersheba Springs, TN; two sisters, Gladys Mansberry and Shirley Wanamaker both of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Maxie Wanamaker of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; special nieces and nephews, Teddy, Jim, Phoebe, Roberta and Denise and special friend and caregiver, Brenda Mullican. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 in High's Chapel with James Wright and Johnny Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caris Hospice or Rocky River Community Center both c/o High's.
