Vernon Clark Joines

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Vernon Clark Joines, age 86, was born August 26, 1926 and died April 16, 2013 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. The long-time minister at West Riverside Church of Christ and United States Army veteran, he was the son of the late Orvel Clayton and Dillie White Elkins Joines. He was married to Ruby Cantrell Joines who preceded him in death July 21, 2012. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Doris Joines. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Elaine Cagle of Lewisburg, TN; daughter, Sandra Hillis of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Jill Hillis Pierce, Stephanie Hillis Dunlap and Tracy Hillis all of McMinnville and Charleigh Beth Cagle of Lewisburg, TN; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters and brother-in-law, Opal Woodside of the Vervilla Community and Dorothy and Raymond Curtis of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Mt. View Cemetery with Garland Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at High's.
