Betty Gunter Hale

McMinnville resident and Cannon County, TN native Betty Gunter Hale, age 92, was born September 29, 1920 and died April 26, 2013 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Houston L. and Dovie Lee Blair Gunter. She was married March 21, 1942 to J.T. Hale who preceded her in death December 17, 2010. Mrs. Hale is survived by three-daughters, Sarah Lynn (Paul E.) Ramsey, Jr. of Cookeville, TN and Phyllis (Gary) Harrell and Johnnie T (Terry D.) Hines both of McMinnville; ten grandchildren, Jenny Lynne Carter, Susannah Akers and Paul Ramsey, Jr. all of Cookeville, TN and Sarah Elisabeth Netherton, James Hines, John Hines, Rachel Hines, Peter Hines, Randall Harrell and Andy Harrell all of McMinnville; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorcas Medley of McMinnville and Ruth M. Payne and Naomi Frasier both of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Norma Gunter of Smithville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 in High's Chapel with Paul Edward Ramsey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Gath Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service Sunday at High's.
