Rodger Dale Smith

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Rodger Dale Smith, age 60, was born October 26, 1952 and died May 1, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. An employee of Oster Corporation and member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, he was the son of Jean Reed Smith of McMinnville and the late John D. Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Rains. Mr. Smith was married February 17, 1990 to Ann Smith of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Gary (Betsy) Stubblefield of Chattanooga, TN; Shawna Partin of California and Jim Bob (Michelle) Stubblefield of McMinnville; seven grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Howard) Mathis of McMinnville; niece, Wendy Stepp of McMinnville; two great-nephews, Dylan and Cameron; mother-in-law, Ruby Elkins of McMinnville; brothers-in-law, James (Nancy) Elkins of McMinnville and Franklin (Ann) Elkins of Manchester, TN and sister-in-law, Irene (Randall) Fuston of the Midway Community. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 in High's Chapel with Pastor David McMinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Cannon County, TN. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High's. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church both c/o High's.
