Mary Evelyn Winton

Mary Evelyn passed from this world on Thursday, May 9th in her home, surrounded by her family. Born June 3rd, 1933, to Elvin L. and Lucinda (Bryant) Spangler, she was a lifelong citizen of McMinnville. She met her soulmate of 59 years, Bobby Winton, at Central High School. They were married January 2nd, 1954. Mary Evelyn was a dedicated homemaker who delighted in opening her home, and showing her guests genuine southern hospitality. She loved music, and loved to sing. She was a member of both the Sweet Adelines and the Barbersharps, in which she sang soprano. Mary Evelyn was a member of the Christ Community Church family. Mary Evelyn’s impact on this world and her memory are carried on by her husband, Bobby, son Tim, daughter-in-law Dawn, and her four grandchildren, Griffin, Kendall, Connor and Grace. Her memory also lives in those whose lives she has touched with her grace, generosity, charm, compassion, dignity and love. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Sunday at High Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in High's Chapel. Paul Roberts and Perry Cotham will officiate this reflective celebration of her life. Interment will follow at Mt. View cemetery. At the request of Bobby and Mary Evelyn, in lieu of memorial donations, help those around you who are in need.
