Bluford "Hal" Owens, Jr.

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Bluford "Hal" Owens, Jr., age 65, was born January 9, 1948 and died May 20, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of Carrier, he was the son of the late Bluford Halbert and Ruby Pearl Vaughn Owens. He was married to Sandra Nannalene Smith Owens who preceded him in death November 29, 2012. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Owens and brother, Dale Wayne Owens. Mr. Owens is survived by two sons, Gregory Owens and Chris Owens both of McMinnville; granddaughter, Macey Leann Owens of McMinnville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Elaine and Johnny Sparkman of McMinnville and Betty Marie and Russ Cook of Florida; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 in High's Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
