Billy Akers Mullican

Billy Akers Mullican, age 93, was born April 7, 1920 and passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home in Maryville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Mullican and Faye Akers Mullican Dillon; son, Thomas Sutton Mullican; and brother, Thomas Mullican. He is survived by wife, Dorothy Jones Mullican; son, Bill Akers (Ann Proffitt) Mullican; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann (Ken Lovic) Mullican and Nicholas Thomas (Nicole) Mullican; great-grandchildren, Casey Elizabeth Mullican, Riley Ann Mullican and Kade Woodfin Lovic. Bill Mullican, Sr. was the founder and owner of B.A. Mullican Lumber & Manufacturing Company. He was active in many community activities including serving on the boards of First Tennessee Bank, Lipscomb University and Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a United States Army Air Forces veteran of WWII. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Mt. View Cemetery for a graveside service with Steve Flatt officiating. There will be no visitation at High's.
