McMinnville resident and Warren county native Willburn McDowell, age 94, was born February 26, 1919 and died May 25, 2013 at Highland Medical Center in Sparta, TN following a short illness. A dairy farmer and member of the Dark Hollow Church of God 7th Day, he was the son of the late John William and Josie Davis McDowell. He was married to Maggie Bottoms McDowell who preceded him in death March 13, 1970 and Maggie Lavina Cannon McDowell who preceded him in death October 21, 2003. In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, JoLeta Reynolds; son, Willburn Jerry McDowell; step-son, Earl Lowery and two step-grandchilren. Mr. McDowell is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Paul Dunlap of Rock Island, TN and Jimmie and Kenneth Pell of Sylvania, AL; two step-daughters Ruth Hunter of McMinnville and Patricia Lowery of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight step-great- grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ronnie Reynolds of McMinnville and special cargivers, Kelly Long and Family. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday May 27, 2013 in High's Chapel with Paul Dunlap and Kenneth Pell officiating. Burial will follow in Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Sunday and 1:00 P.M. until time of service Monday at High's.
