Albert Wayne Caviness

Warrenton, VA resident and Blue Mountain, MS native Albert Wayne Caviness, age 69, was born June 25, 1943 and died suddenly June 15, 2013 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. A Risk Manager with Securities Investor Protection Corporation in Washington, D.C. and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of Melva Lois Goudy Caviness and the late Cletus Caviness. He was married April 9, 1977 to Linda Pedigo Caviness who preceded him in death May 4, 2012. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Jennifer Leigh and Tom Jacobs of Carnegie, PA, Luther Wayne Caviness of Warrenton, VA and Juliet Caviness and Jesse Fruchter of Silver Spring, MD; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thurman and Jeanne Pedigo of Murfreesboro, TN, Ralph and Raynell Pedigo of Morrison, TN, Charles Johnson of McMinnville, Evelena and Mark Ashburn of Smithville, TN and Virginia and Gary Newby of Sparta, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at New Union Methodist Church with Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Hwy. 30, with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. There will be no visitation at High's or prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Linda Pedigo Caviness Scholarship Fund c/o of High's.
