Robert Frank Neer

McMinnville, TN resident and West Liberty, OH native Robert Frank Neer, age 77, was born March 30, 1936 and died August 4, 2013 at Manchester Health Care Center in Manchester, TN following a brief illness. Retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, OH and a member of Lawrenceville United Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Lena M. Huffman Neer. He was married to Sandra Jean Fredritz Neer who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Neer; and two brothers, David Neer and Paul Neer. He is survived by four children, Deborah (Mark) Hill of Shelbyville, TN, Stephen (Kathy)Neer of Gainesboro, TN, Dennis (Jeanie) Neer of Ortonville, MI and Cassandra (Bob) Ballengee of Marion, VA; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Stephanie, Amanda, Emily, Keith and Jimmy Neer, and Christina, Ashley and Tyler Ballengee; and sister, Nellie (Wes) Jones of St. Paris, OH. Mr. Neer volunteered many hours in School Band, Drum Corps and other activities. He was a graduate with the Class of 1954 from Johnson-St. Paris High School in St. Paris, OH. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Cookeville First United Methodist Church, 165 E. Broad St., Cookeville, TN 38501.
