Roy Eugene Brown

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Roy Eugene Brown, age 84, was born August 3, 1929 and died August 10, 2013 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. Retired from Mueller Valve Company, a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Second Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Will and Carrie Woodlee Brown. He was married December 17, 1950 to Christine Jewel Wooten Brown who preceded him in death February 3, 2013. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Brown and Cora Lee Brown. He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, James W. and Georgia Brown of California; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda and David Smartt of McMinnville; three nieces, Jan Guaschino of California, Lillian Bryant of McMinnville and Rhonda Owens and husband Allen of Rock Island, TN; nephew, Shane Wooten of McMinnville; and three great-nieces and seven great-nephews. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in High's Chapel with Rev. Harry Green officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at High's.
