Cordell Ramsey

McMinnville, TN resident and Jackson County, TN native Cordell Ramsey, age 80, was born January 19, 1933 and died September 19, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. Mr. Ramsey was a thirty-four year employee of Magnetek, where he was given a special award for never missing a day of work during his employment. He was a United States Navy veteran of Vietnam and a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Robert L. and Ethel Pauline Barrett Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Thorold Ramsey; nephew, Patrick Ramsey; and niece, Grealyn Womack. He is survived by two brothers, Paul Ramsey and wife Sarah of Cookeville, TN and Bob Ramsey of Brentwood, TN; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Melinda and Sam Womack of McMinnville, Wanda and James Dexter of Cookeville, TN and Robbie Davis of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Notie Ramsey of McMinnville. Funeral service will held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 in High's Chapel with Paul Ramsey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at High's.
