Bobbie Jean Mayes

Bobbie Jean Mayes, age 82, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born December 12, 1930 and died September 23, 2013 at River Park Hospital following an illness of four days. She was a homemaker, member of the Church of Christ and daughter of the late Basil Noel and Mary Louise Turner Johnson. She was married December 20, 1947 to J.W. "Willie" Mayes who preceded her in death April 25, 2012. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by children, Ann Mayes and Jimmy Lynn Mayes; sister Shirley Thomas and brother Billy Joe Johnson. Mrs. Mayes is survived by daughter, Vickie Mayes and friend Barry Haston of McMinnville, TN; sister, Doris Wanamaker of McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law, Betty Walker, McMinnville, TN and brother-in-law, Howard Mayes of McMinnville, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in High's Chapel with Tim Long and Robert Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
