McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native John Thomas Craven, age 77, was born June 18, 1936 and died October 6, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired employee of DeZurik and a member of Arlington Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Owen W. and Lula Mae Smith Craven. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, James Craven, Alene Holmes, Charles Craven, Anne Stubblefield, Bethel Craven, Donald Craven and Floyd Craven. He was married October 16, 1964 to Rosemary Simons Craven of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Thomas and Donna Shockley Craven, Jr. of Nashville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Craven and Joyce Pinkston both of McMinnville and Betty McGregor of Smyrna, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Dot Arrington of Mt. Juliet, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in High's Chapel with Charlie Pearson and Jerry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High's. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
