Malcolm Everett McCormick

Malcolm Everett McCormick, age 77, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born July 23, 1936 and died November 16, 2013 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. He was the son of Melvina Delaney McCormick of Rock Island, TN and the late Johnny McCormick. He was a retired U.S. Army Supply Sergeant and Vietnam War Veteran and a member of North Hills Drive Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two sons, Malcolm Dewhite and Donnie Lee McCormick; brother, Alvin McCormick; sister, Helen Cooper; and grandson, Cameron Gillette. He was married July 2, 1960 to Wanda Hess McCormick of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Herman (Etta Mae) Workman of Rock Island, TN and Mark McCormick of McMinnville; daughter and fiance', Judy McCormick and Alan Fitts, Sr. of Rock Island, TN; six grandchildren, Thomas Workman, Amanda Workman, Maranda Beard, Brittany (Michael) Schofner, Daniel (Teah) Gillespie and Laura (Jerrad) Devore; eleven great-grandchildren, Taylan Hobbs, Ethen Workman, Kayden Coates, Baylor Beard, Shayla Gillette, Chloe Gillette, Abe Woods, Cain Woods, McKyna Schofner, Payton Schofner and Micha Schofner; eight brothers, Johnny McCormick, Jr. of Rock Island, TN, Harry and Billy McCormick of Indianapolis, IN; Franklin and Jimmy McCormick of Campaign, TN; Norman and Noland McCormick of McMinnville and Eddie McCormick of Bone Cave, TN; three sisters, Louise Roberts of Indianapolis, IN, Shirley Elmore of Columbia, SC and Carolyn Rodecker of Arizona. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in High's Chapel with Michael Harris to officiate. Burial will follow in the Brick House Cemetery in Warren County. Military grave rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at High's.
