Rilla Alma Madewell

McMinnville, TN resident and Overton County, TN native Rilla Alma Madewell, age 90, was born August 17, 1923 and died November 22, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Drucilla Hargis Vaughn. She was married to Johnnie L. Madewell who preceded her in death January 6, 1983. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony and Houston Madewell; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law, John L. and Agnes Madewell of Rock Island, TN, Wayne and Geraldine Madewell of Rock Island, TN, James and Mary Madewell of Spencer, TN, Manuel and Sandy Madewell of McMinnville, Arling Eaton of Smartt, TN, Larry and Lynn Eaton of Smithville, TN and Daniel and Becky Hill of Spencer, TN; three daughters, Barbara Hennessee of Morrison, TN and Juanita Hanner and Evelyn Steakley both of McMinnville; and eighty-three grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Locust Street Church of God with Jeff Page and Jason Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, and from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday at High's.
