Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native William Green Fisher, age 84, was born September 28, 1929 and died November 24, 2013 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. An explosive technician with Stoneman and member of the Church of God of Prophecy, he was the son of the late John Wiley and Sarah Belle Green Fisher. He was married March 13, 1948 to Willie Mae Scott Fisher who preceded him in death May 25, 2008. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Charlotte Buss; great-granddaughter, Isabella Yates; brothers, Arthur, Floyd and James Wilson Fisher and sisters, Elliott Warren And Mona Hale. Mr. Fisher is survived by five children and their spouses, Joe and Faye Fisher of Smyrna, TN, Brenda Bell and Randy and Debbie Fisher both of McMinnville, Deborah and Dickie Sliger of Morrison, TN and Teresa and Dale Yates of Spencer, TN; eleven grandchildren, Brian Fisher, Keith Bell, Steve Sliger, Stacey Sliger, Kyle Fisher, Zack Fisher, Dustin Yates, Ross Yates, Stephanie Lambert, Shelley Bell and Lacey Jones; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five sisters, Helen Hale and Johnnie Jackson both of Rock Island, TN, Verda Poss and Linda Simmons both of McMinnville and Bertha Pack of Spencer, TN; several nieces and nephews and special friend, L.J. Matheny. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in High's Chapel with Rick Lyles and Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bybee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.
