Thomas Henry Rowland

Thomas Henry Rowland, age 78, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native died November 29, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a retired employee of Powermatic and a farmer, member of the Rock Island Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge of Rock Island and son of the late Henry Herbert and Ella Nora McCormick Rowland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Ricky Steven Rowland and daughter, Kathy Faye Duncan. Mr. Rowland was married August 15, 1954 to Vina Evelyn Hillis Rowland who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Tommy H. (Theresa) Rowland of McMinnville, TN and Clark (Vicki) Rowland of Rock Island, TN; two grandchildren, Stacia (Justin) Barnes and Cody (Whitney) Rowland of McMinnville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Rowland and Gabriel Rowland; one sister, Mary Etta Hale of Bone Cave, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 in High's Chapel with Mike Steakley officiating. Interment to follow in Crain Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of service at High's. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice.
