Billy Howard Gilbert

Billy Howard Gilbert, age 75, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native was born May 13, 1938 and died January 15, 2014 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was a retired employee of Carrier Corporation, a United States Army Veteran and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ. He was the son of the late John and Maude Thompson Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Evans, Juanita Taylor and Vera Bouldin. He was married March 6, 1965 to Junetta Simmons Gilbert who survives. He is also survived by children and spouses, Ritchie Allen (Lisa Dell) Gilbert and Jeffery Howard Gilbert of McMinnville, TN and Scottie Ray (Cynthia) Gilbert of Morrison, TN; six grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; brother, Lloyd Gilbert of Spencer, TN; six sisters, Sylvia Brock and Lucille Vanwinkle of Spencer, TN, Wanda Warner of Crossville, TN, Beulah Evans and Roberta Parmley of McMinnville, TN and Rachel Oaks of Rock Island, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service and interment will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Gardens of Memory with Tony Lawrence to officiate. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at High's.
