Myrtle Mae Grieves

July 15, 1925 — January 18, 2014

Myrtle Mae Grieves, age 88, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died January 18, 2014 in NHC Healthcare, McMinnville, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Grieves was retired, having been employed by McMinnville Garment Company, Savage Nursery, River Park Hospital and a self employed caregiver. She was a member of Irving College Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Eli and Mary Gibbs Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, I.L. Savage, Wilbur McGee and Laverne Grieves; brothers, Willard and Tom Brown and sisters, Frances Turner and Janie Brown. Mrs. Grieves is survived by two sons, Tommy (Carla) Savage of Rock Island, TN and Bill Brown of McMinnville, TN; six grandchildren, Brandon (Jenny) Savage, Crossville, TN; Kendra (Ethan) Rutledge, Columbus, OH; Daniel Savage, Rock Island, TN; Amy (Chris) Norville, Murfreesboro, TN; Jessica (Kenny) Campbell and Whitney Brown of McMinnville, TN, three great-grandchildren, several step-children and step-grandchildren, special niece, Eva Lois Brady of McMinnville. Several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in High's Chapel with Ronald Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of service at High's. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nursing Home Christmas or the Shellsford Cemetery Trust Fund.
