Martha Eleanor Barnes

Martha Eleanor Barnes, age 79, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died January 19, 2014 at Raintree Manor following a one year illness. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Tallman and Sara Ramsey Boyd, retired office manager for Dr. Michael Roberts, DDS and charter member of Westwood Church of Christ. She was married to Cordell Barnes who preceded her in death May 5, 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Stephen Joseph Cantrell; brother, Ramsey Boyd and father of children, Robert Phifer. Mrs. Barnes is survived by two daughters, Sally (Paul) Cantrell and Cindy Phifer of McMinnville, TN; grandson, Jeffrey P. (Wanda) Cantrell of McMinnville, TN; great-granddaughter, Lauran Cantrell of McMinnville, TN; brother, Joe (Mary Jo) Boyd of Smartt, TN; aunts, Ruth Ramsey and Thelma Boyd, McMinnville, TN; uncle, Hubert (Billie Gray) Boyd, McMinnville, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Billy Jack & Alice Barnes, McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law, Kathy Boyd, McMinnville, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and best friend, Glyndon Pedigo of Cookeville, TN. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Central Church of Christ with Paul Roberts, Bobby Newby and Jeff Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday January 21, 2014 and 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at High's. Memorial donations may be made to Westwood Church of Christ, ALS Foundation, Nursing Home Christmas or the charity of your choice.
