Helen Lucille Newby

Gallatin, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Helen Lucille Newby, age 88, was born August 15, 1925 and died January 30, 2014 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Okla Homer "O.H." and Emma Louvisa Christian Perry. She was married February 10, 1946 to Carl M. Newby who preceded her in death August 29, 1986. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Carl Douglas and Pam Newby of Gallatin, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Carol and Joel Greene of Old Hickory, TN; four grandchildren and spouses, Linda Raye Newby of Gallatin, TN, Carla Kaye and Ethan Huffard of Nashville, TN, Alan Winston and Brandi Greene of Lebanon, TN and Michael Joel Greene of Old Hickory, TN; three great-grandchildren, Eli and Sadie Huffard and Mason Greene; and step-great-grandson, Hunter Lockert. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in High's Chapel with Charles Williams and Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's.
