Guy Robert Moffitt, Jr.

Columbus, OH resident and Warren County, TN native Guy Robert Moffitt, Jr., age 93, was born September 3, 1920 and died February 12, 2014.Retired from the Aeronautics and Information Systems, a United States Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Guy Robert and Eva McCrory Haas Moffitt, Sr. He was married to Olivene Barnes Moffitt who preceded him in death September 30, 2004. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Carol Pate; son, Guy R. Moffitt, III; a baby son and daughter; siblings, Boyce and Phillip Moffitt and Louella Mosley; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lowell Barnes, Edna Brady and Earlene Doak.He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Susan Moffitt of Groveport, OH and Cheryl and Greg Finnegan of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Meagan, Tom and Sam Finnegan of Minnesota, Gretel Adams of Columbus, OH, Wendy Raphael of Hawaii and Brian and Rob Pate; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 in High's Chapel with Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High's.
