Quebeck, TN resident and Warren County native Joe Edward Whitworth, age 83, was born September, 17, 1930 and died April 6, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Mallory Timer and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late John Floyd and Josephine Mayfield Whitworth. In addititon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Brock Whitworth; daughter, Evelyn Whitworth; grandson, Toby Whitworth; brothers, E.L., "Bug" and Wayne Whitworth and sister, Mae Gibbs.Mr. Whitworth was married May 7, 1965 to Claudine Whitworth of Quebeck, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Donald Joe and Elena Whitworth of Lubbock, TX, Jim and Joene Whitworth and Tom and Rita Whitworth both of Sparta, TN, Eddie and Cynthia Whitworth of the Dibrell Community and Nickie and Mike Cantrell of Walling, TN; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lillie Smith of McMinnville, Deamie Moody and Jennie Hillis both of the Rocky River Community, Lorena Snider of Indiana and Joyce Glover of California; brother, Bennie Whitworth of Spencer, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy officaiting. Burial will follow in the Crain Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
