Linda Faye Matthews Barks

Smithville, TN resident and White County, TN native Linda Faye Matthews Barks, age 65, was born September 27, 1948 and died April 19, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.A dietary aide at NHC Healthcare McMinnville and member of Quebeck Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Ernest McClellan and Lillian Louise Odell Matthews.  She was married December 17, 1965 to Charlie Ray Barks who preceded her in death March 10, 2010.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Charlene Scott.Mrs. Barks is survived by a grandson, Matthew Malachi Scott of McMinnville;  two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Jean and James Leroy Rice of the Green Hill Community and Shirley Ann and Gary Pryor of Cookeville, TN;  brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Joyce Kirby of Newfane, NY;  several nieces, nephews, cousins and caregivers, Tracy Rice and Felicia Walker.A graveside service and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Smyrna Cemetery with David Bratcher officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday at High's.
