McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mildred June Barnes, age 82, was born June 28, 1931 and died April 25, 2014 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.A retired employee of Oster Corporation and member of St. Mary's Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Dredmon and Beulah Madewell Roberts. She was married January 17, 1951 to Lowell Barnes who preceded her in death November 27, 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Jess, George, Charles, Waymon and Mack Roberts; two sisters, Lucy Cunningham and Eva Nunley; step-son, Douglas Barnes; grandson, Jerry Cantrell and daughter-in-law, Patricia Barnes.Mrs. Barnes is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Rick Binkley of Goodlettsville, TN; two step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Diane and Jim McCullough of Cumming, GA and Brenda and Gerald Cantrell of Union Grove, AL; two sons, Clay Barnes and Coleman Barnes both of McMinnville; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Gertrude Milstead of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and caregiver and cherished friend, Gail Smith.Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 in High's Chapel with Greg Rains and Rick Binkley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.
