Samuel Myrel "Pete" McBride

McMinnville resident and Franklin County, TN native Samuel Myrel "Pete" McBride, age 84, was born June 1, 1929 and died May 3, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.A retired machinist and welder with Ford Motor Company, United States Marine Corps veteran of WWII and Korean and member of the Westwood Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde Fuston and Sarah Fay McCormick McBride.  He was married to Margaret Bush McBride who preceded him in death November 26, 1994.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Edward McBride and two sisters, Wilma Juhasz and Jewelldean Aligood.Mr. McBride is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Virginia McBride of McMinnville, Kenneth "Bo" and Kathy McBride of Knoxville, TN and Keith and Linda McBride of Smyrna, TN;  daughter, Doris Elaine Worrell of McMinnville;  ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild;  brother, Thomas C. McBride of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in High's Chapel with Bob Deason and William McCormack officiating.  Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
